Week 10

Welcome to the weekly Language Centres blog and our final update of the term. It has been wonderful to see the remarkable progress that learners at the Language Centres have made over the past few weeks. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and the confidence they have developed in using Welsh.

Highlights of the Week

This week, the learners had great fun getting to know three new characters: Puw Paned, Olwen and Llywelyn Llwyd.

The children enjoyed taking part in a range of creative activities through drama, role-play and fun language games. These activities gave them the opportunity to develop their Welsh in an engaging and exciting way, using the language in meaningful, real-life situations.

We also read the exciting story "The Museum Mirror", followed by a variety of language games based on the story.

There was certainly no shortage of laughter as the children performed this week's drama, "Puw Paned's Problem". In the play, Puw orders a sweet treat from Mr Bowen, but thanks to a very funny mix-up, a delicious KitKat is confused with Kit-e-Kat cat food! The children's performances were full of energy, fantastic acting and endless laughter. We're sure everyone went home with a smile on their face and plenty of stories to share.

The final week of the term was a wonderful celebration of the children's achievements, filled with happy memories, laughter and games as we reflected on the highlights of the past ten weeks. It has been a pleasure to watch their confidence grow and to see their Welsh develop week after week.

As the children return to their schools, we would like to wish them every success as they continue their Welsh language journey. Thank you to all the children, their families and the schools for your support throughout the term.

As the summer holidays begin, we hope everyone has the chance to relax, have fun and enjoy spending time with family and friends. Why not go for a walk, create an obstacle course in the garden, visit the beach or enjoy playing games together? Whatever adventures you have planned, remember to enjoy every moment and take every opportunity to use a little Welsh each day.

Have a wonderful summer holiday, and keep speaking Welsh!
