Week 5

Highlights of the Week

What a busy week! The language centres have been full of energy and activities this week, as the children continue their language journey. They have combined creativity, technology, and lots of fun while learning Welsh.

The children had the opportunity to learn parts of animal bodies, including names such as tail, teeth, wings, and claws. Everyone enjoyed describing big and small animals, and we had lots of fun with our guessing games! The children listened carefully to the clues and were eager to guess which animal was being described.

They also had the chance to imagine and create their own unusual animals, with some combining an elephant’s head with a fish’s body, and others even giving a pig wings! There were great discussions about how to describe these creatures using adjectives.

The children had the opportunity to learn adjectives through singing lively songs and lots of movement. The class was full of laughter, action, and music – a perfect way to reinforce the language.

They also had the chance to learn about 2D and 3D shapes through a variety of fun and interactive activities. The shapes were introduced naturally, helping the children to recognize and name different shapes through play and creation.

The children also listened to a new story about the adventures of Aron, Beca, Twm, and Carwyn the Crocodile in Aberwla. By listening and reading together, the children had the chance to learn new vocabulary and practise listening skills. Everyone enjoyed the adventure!

During the VR session, the children went on a virtual tour around the forest and farm in Aberwla. They had the opportunity to learn by observing and reviewing what they had learned about animal body parts, describing the different creatures they saw on the journey.
