Year 3 and 4 Gornest Lyfrau

On Wednesday, 17 June at the Arad Goch Centre, Aberystwyth, we held the national Year 3 and 4 of the Welsh-language Gornest Lyfrau Final.

During the day pupils from schools across Wales discussed books, watched their adverts on the big screen, created blurbs and covers, and took part in workshop with author Siôn Tomos Owen. 

A huge congratulations to Ysgol Waunfawr for representing Gwynedd. Thank you to the pupils for their effort and success, and to the school staff and the community for their support in ensuring that the pupils had this special experience. 

The winners were as follows: 
1st – Pen Barras School representing Denbighshire  
2nd - Melin Gruffydd School representing Cardiff 
3rd - Pennant School representing Powys
