Week 2
A Week Full of Learning and Fun
The learners have settled well into their second week of learning Welsh, continuing to build their confidence in using language patterns through a variety of activities.
Highlights of the Week
This week, the pupils built on their previous learning by using language patterns in new contexts, helping them become more confident when communicating orally.
During the week, learners studied the names of parts of the face and body through fun activities such as movement, singing, and games. They greatly enjoyed creating funny faces by combining facial features with simple adjectives. The “Red Chair” activity provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to practise asking and answering questions, further developing their speaking skills.
In numeracy sessions, learners reinforced their understanding of numbers and symbols through oral activities and counting games.
Throughout the week, the days of the week and weather vocabulary were introduced, with pupils regularly using these language patterns during short morning conversations.
A particular highlight of the week for learners at Canolfan Iaith Eifionydd was taking part in a café role-play activity, where they practised ordering food and drinks in Welsh. Learners also had the opportunity to enjoy cake and hot chocolate, making the experience both memorable and enjoyable while using their Welsh in a real-life context.
